Originally considering a role as a Relationship Manager in a bank, I explored alternative avenues within the financial sector. A pivotal conversation with my manager at AIA shifted my perspective. When I inquired about the difference between selling plans and engaging in planning, his question, “Are you asking about plans or planning?” opened my eyes to the broader impact and deeper engagement of financial planning. This dialogue reassured me that a career in financial advisory was the path I sought, one that aligned with my aspirations to offer significant, personalised advice rather than just products.

My main career goal is to lead my own team and be promoted to Director by 2030. I plan to achieve the Court of the Table (COT) by 2024 and advance to Associate Director by 2025. These milestones are not just titles but represent my commitment to developing and mentoring a team that upholds the highest standards of client service and financial guidance.

What keeps me motivated as a financial consultant and leader is the opportunity to help clients with the right planning and to progress alongside them. Witnessing their financial growth and stability reinforces the importance of my work. The philosophy of “stay long and stay stronger” underpins my approach, emphasising resilience and long-term commitment both to my clients and to my personal and professional development in the industry.
