AAG sponsored one of our rugby tours and invited us down to a recruitment talk. During the sharing, I was very inspired by how passionate my boss, Chuan, was about the profession even at this age. As a national athlete, this passion intrigued me and I wanted to learn more from him. I joined the business after, and the rest is history.

Find your “why”.

My brother is a beneficiary of insurance, and my family has witnessed firsthand the importance of life insurance. That was the turning point of my career. This experience gave me the ‘why’; the reason behind my actions. I seek to keep my clients’ best interests as my top priority, and anticipate their needs to provide them with financial stability.          

Hard work pays off.

The most rewarding moments of my career are when I’m able to add value and impact the lives of whoever I come into contact with. And I mean this not just in terms of financial advisory, but also in other aspects of their lives. I always strive to build positive rapport, build trust, and conduct myself with integrity and empathy.

Do not underestimate your impact.

There is a lot of social stigma surrounding this profession, but when you are fully immersed in this experience, you’ll be able to see how this profession can transform and impact the lives around you. The result of your hard work will be tangible in the lives of your clients, so always remember that you can make a difference!
