I may have been a financial consultant for 15 years, but I started my career in AIA 25 years ago as an administrator. It was during my time as a backend administrator that I realised the joy of providing financial advisory services to clients.

I haven’t looked back since, and have gone on to achieve multiple Million Dollar Round Table (“MDRT”) memberships, qualify as a member of Centurion Club, Superstar Club Platinum and AIA Financial Advisers Prestige Platinum Club for my work.

On top of that, I was awarded the title as Personal Wealth Manager for 2 consecutive years in 2019 and 2020.

Financial consulting is nothing like a desk job.

When you are in the industry, you have to be honest, caring and trustworthy to clients. You must also ensure that you are available to your clients at all times — you must never forget that you are being entrusted to provide good service to them.

Lifetime MDRT is the dream.

Attaining the lifetime MDRT award has always been a dream of mine, ever since I received my first ever MDRT award. But of course, the satisfaction I derive from my career goes beyond these achievements. I am also grateful for the many friendships I have built with my clients, acting as their support pillar, life adviser, or even BFF.

Hiccups and rejection are part and parcel of the job.

For the past 15 years, I cannot say that my journey thus far has been smooth-sailing. I have had my fair share of rejections and down moments, but such is the life of a financial consultant. We just have to continue focusing in our own belief, continue to upkeep the same standards in servicing our clients, and be fair to all at the end of the day.
