I initially started out as a student intern while I was in my final year at NUS. The idea of being an entrepreneur, connecting with clients and delivering value was a career direction that intrigued me greatly. Over time, the continual nurturing and mentorship from my leaders and peers gave me the confidence to pursue my path as a financial consultant.

A greater appreciation for time, relationships and family

From meeting people across different walks of life, this career has given me a greater sense of appreciation for my time and loved ones around me. I’m thankful for having a career that gives me the time flexibility to spend time with my family, and I also hope that by helping my clients financially, I will be able to provide them with a similar peace of mind and focus their energies on their loved ones too.

The personal touch can never be replaced

Being a financial consultant is like running a business; it can be disrupted by technology or unforeseen occurrences. However it’s fully within our control to remain adaptable to these changes, and the core of being a financial consultant is to ensure that the principle of providing that personal touch never changes. As long as we continue to innovate and provide greater value to our clients, learn, and grow, we will continue to have a place in our clients’ lives in the long term.
