TAN ZHI MIN

I started as a student advisor during my university studies as a freshman, and decided to continue after graduation into a financial consulting career.

Having achieved my first International Dragon Award 2020 – Bronze Dragon Award in my 4 year-long career, serving as a full-time advisor brings me immense satisfaction to be able to serve my clients, family and friends. I was also awarded the title as Personal Wealth Manager of AIA High Net Worth Prestige Club 2020.

Always listen before you speak.

To me, it is important to have a listening heart in order to understand the needs of your clients fully, and seeing where their concerns are coming from. It is only through empathising with their circumstances that you can then propose solutions that would be the best fit for them.

Mentorship is important too.

I was lucky to have been under the tutelage of many competent financial consultants from my days as a student advisor, and I wish to be able to pay it back by grooming the next generation of financial consultants as I go further in my career.

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

As a financial consultant, I always put myself in my clients’ shoes and recommend solutions only if I would have done it to myself. That is how you know you have represented your clients’ best interests as opposed to personal gain. After all, being a financial consultant is being a friend to everybody!
