I joined AAG as an intern while I was in my second year of study at Singapore Management University. Through interactions with my mentors, I was able to witness the value and impact that financial consultants can create for the people around them. After graduation, I decided to make this a lifelong career for myself and eventually brought in a few of my friends, who have since built a career for themselves too!

Broadened perspectives.
Being a financial consultant has allowed me to not only add value to my clients’ lives, but to mine as well. This career has allowed me to meet people from all walks of life, and getting to know them on a personal basis through my work has broadened my perspectives on this world.

A human touch is not easily replaced.
As a people’s business, it is important in this era of digitalisation to still maintain close touchpoints and forge strong bonds with our clients. The relationship that financial consultants have with their clients relies heavily on interpersonal trust, and this is something that is not easily replaced by technology.

Be empathetic.
I believe possessing empathy is the most important trait that every financial consultant should have. Being able to understand and see things from others’ points of view helps me to deliver the best value in terms of advice to the people around me.
