Previously in the logistics industry, I was working 6 days a week and was always on 24/7 standby for deliveries. I was always tired throughout the weekends, spending my only rest day sleeping and playing games. At that point, I wasn’t happy with where I was and didn’t want to spend the rest of my working years doing the exact same thing. I met Wei Jie then and was surprised at how much value he added to me even before I became his client. When I first got to know about the financial advisory industry, I thought of Wei Jie and wanted to have the same values as he did, which is putting his clients’ best interests before his own. Since then, AAG has allowed me to meet so many wonderful humans who serve with their hearts.

My greatest influence is my mother. She has shown me what it’s like to love others unconditionally and to give your best no matter the task and responsibility.
Be the friend that your clients need.
Financial consultants should also act as a friend or comrade, as someone that clients can be very transparent with in terms of their financial situation. We help provide clarity to their portfolio, and allow them to make better-informed decisions towards their future, so long as we’re able to build that trust with them.
Press on regardless of obstacles.
My advice to new financial consultants is to always give 100% in every task that you complete, no matter the size of the impact that it brings to others. It always begins with that single step, and remember that this career is a marathon, not a sprint.
