LUO TIANYI CHRISTOPHER

I began my journey in financial consultancy in the banking industry when I graduated from university. After five years in the industry and progressing to the priority banking level, I decided to join AIA as a financial consultant in 2013 as the next step of my career journey.

I was appointed Associate Director in 2018, and my other accolades include being a Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) qualifying member, an MDC Platinum member, a PWM 2015 member, and a Centurion Club 2019 member, and a High Net Worth Associate Director in 2020.

Financial consultancy is not just a career, but a way of life.
Anyone looking to be a financial consultant should firstly know that being one is not just a job, but a career and a way of life and that anybody and everybody could be of help to you in some way or another as you build up your career.

Drawing inspiration from my leaders.
My boss Gabriel Tan is my greatest influence. Despite having been in the industry for so many years, his drive and commitment to excel in this industry is still there. This inspires me to likewise desire to continually be at the highest level and to stay relevant.

The ever-changing role of financial consultants.
The role of financial consultants in society has and will keep on changing in the future. Financial planning, and more importantly, insurance, start to form a bigger part of a client’s portfolio, clients are starting to look for financial consultants who are not only knowledgeable about their products, but are also able to advise on other scopes of matters such as wills and trusts, general topics, and lifestyle. We have to begin moving away from purely selling products, to positioning products in a way that benefits not only them but their family at different timelines or stages of life.
