After graduating, I engaged in hotel operations for two years, then pivoted to Human Resources within the hospitality and healthcare sectors for six years. This phase honed my interpersonal skills and deepened my passion for service, yet I yearned for a more impactful avenue to exercise these competencies. The opportunity presented itself when I reconnected with a polytechnic friend, Ryan, whose transformative journey through AIA Honeybees Organisation inspired me.

It was Ryan, under the mentorship of Executive Director Yuan Shyuan, who showcased the profound personal and professional growth possible in this field. Witnessing his evolution, and realising the broader impact I could achieve, I transitioned into financial services, driven by a desire to make a significant difference in people’s financial and personal lives.

The pinnacle of my career thus far was achieving my first Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) within three months of joining the industry. This early success was a testament to the hard work and dedication put into my new role, which not only made my mentors proud but significantly boosted my confidence in my abilities.

My ultimate goal is to alter the public perception of financial consultants. I aim to showcase the ethical, client-focused side of our work, disproving the stigma of financial advisors merely being salespeople. Through right recruitment and proper training, I am committed to fostering a new generation of advisors who are ethical, client-centric, and genuinely interested in the welfare of their clients.
