I was introduced to the financial advisory industry through an internship programme, which widened my perspective towards what the role of a financial consultant entails. Personally, I have always enjoyed finance and budgeting. However, I realised that these essential topics are not widely taught in school. Through this role, I feel that I can professionally help people — especially young adults — in their journey towards financial independence.

A life of autonomy.

Though there are many career options that can fulfill what I wish to achieve in this life, I believe the life of a financial consultant provides much more autonomy in the way we can plan our daily lives and personal goals. As entrepreneurs in our own right, we also have limitless room for professional growth, which also impacts our clients in their financial growth.

Always put your clients first.

My clients are my priority, and I enjoy meeting and helping young adults to journey through their life goals. It brings me a lot of satisfaction seeing my clients do better in their life every year, and achieving their personal milestones.

Focus on doing good to people.

Always be there for your clients through the good and bad days. The most rewarding moment in my career so far is when I got to witness my client hold her dream wedding, and live in her beautifully renovated house. This was a vision that we had planned for together 5 years ago to have her finances in place, and seeing it materialise eventually is a reminder that doing good and working hard pays off!
