Formerly an Air Force regular, I left to join the financial consulting industry in 2016 as I was driven by my desire for financial independence, as well as wanting to provide a comfortable life for my parents for bringing me up. Today, apart from being an Associate Director, I am also an estate planning specialist, “wedding planner” and “events organiser” for my clients.

Focus on what is small enough to change, but big enough to matter
This is why it is important to always be, first and foremost, a listening ear to your clients. In the pursuit of personal growth, I always strive to be on the pulse of my clients’ financial needs, helping them in areas from insurance and investments to mortgages, wedding planning and even car purchases. I fundamentally believe that this personal touch, aided by my listening ear, is key to the role of a successful financial consultant.

Never forget it’s a team effort
Even though I achieved my biggest accolade, the Top of the Table 2024, I do not deserve the credit alone. It is also thanks to my colleagues and Top of the Table focus group for helping me pull through in the last quarter, as well as my founder, Chuan, for inspiring the right culture and values of the organisation in me. I also have AIA FA’s team of underwriters, business development managers and backend staff for being there to support the business’ growth.

Because of this quote, I have my sights set on eventually becoming an Executive Director, and helping bring more people into the business and positively impact more lives.
