I joined AAG by chance when my friend introduced me to their internship programme. After the 10-week programme, I achieved clarity of what this industry is about, and the level of impact that we can achieve. During the internship, I managed to forge strong friendships and was very impressed by how this industry can change someone’s life. I, myself, am a beneficiary of insurance and decided to embark on this journey to impact more lives and protect them.

Independence, impact and income

My life mentor once told me that 3 things are important in a career: independence, impact and income. This career gives me a sense of fulfilment when I can help young adults kickstart their portfolios, and parents who are planning to retire in 10 to 20 years. Being able to walk through different milestones together with them makes me feel happy and grateful. This career is full of challenges, and I am really glad for the amount of growth I have gained over the past 2.5 years.

A people’s business

As a financial consultant, I relish the excitement of meeting new people and being able to help them plan for their future. It keeps me motivated that way, being able to provide new information and value-add to their lives constantly.

Have discipline

This career requires a lot of self-discipline as it is a self-employed industry. Without good habits, it is very hard for one to move forward. Yes, there will be support from your mentor and friends. However, you still have to push yourself as no one else is going to do it for you
